What are your preconceptions about hypnosis?

I find that a lot people donā€™t know much about it.

For some, the idea of it comes from a movie theyā€™ve seen, or a cruise that they may have taken way back when.

So, letā€™s shed some light on it!

With so many myths surrounding hypnosis, you may have a hard time wrapping your head around how ordinary it feels, but make no mistake, hypnosis is anything but ordinary. Hypnosis can help you make powerful changes in your life, when you find the right person to work with. The four states of hypnosis, explained below, can help you understand how it works.

In the Beta state, you are alert, wide awake, and you can hear, comprehend, and understand everything I am saying. During this time your conscious critical mind is activated and you respond to existing beliefs in your subconscious, acting upon those beliefs on a day to day basis.

In the Alpha state, you begin to listen to my voice, you relax, and your brainwave frequency drops. This allows your conscious mind to take a little hiatus. During this time, you can hear and understand me. You are able to follow along with guided visualization, using your vivid imagination. Your mind is very receptive to the suggestions I give to you during this time.

When you enter the Theta state, as you start to relax even more, your brainwave frequency may drop further, down to Theta, and things can start to feel a little fuzzy at this point. During this time your mind may wander off and you might even miss parts of what I say. This is perfectly normal, and it means that your subconscious mind is listening to and acting upon my suggestions.

The Delta state is the deepest state of hypnosis and it is a deeply restorative. While in this state, you are not aware of what Iā€™m saying, but the suggestions are being accepted on a subconscious level. It is rare for someone to drop down into the Delta state and are more likely to fluctuate between Alpha to Theta. The longer you work with me and the more you become accustomed to my voice, the possibility of reaching this state becomes greater.
